SUMMARY:Drug-Free Tamil Nadu
DESCRIPTION:The NSS Unit of CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College\, Coimbatore\, organized a series of Anti-Drug Awareness activities on 11 August 2026 under the “Drug-Free Tamil Nadu” campaign.NSS Programme Officers\, faculty members\, and NSS volunteers actively participated in all the activities. \n 1. Anti-Drug Mass Pledge:  \nAn Anti-Drug Mass Pledge was conducted on the college campus through an online meeting in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The Principal\, NSS Programme Officers\, faculty members\, and students participated in the Anti-Drug Mass Pledge and expressed their commitment to creating a drug-free society. \n 2. Anti-Drug Awareness Programme:  \nAn Anti-Drug Awareness Programme was conducted at 3:00 p.m. in the College Conference Hall. Dr. R. Renuga\, Principal\, and NSS Programme Officers participated in the programme. Mr. Thiruvasagam\, Sub-Inspector; Mr. Vellingiri; and Mr. Nataraj\, Sub-Inspector\, E2 Police Station\, Peelamedu\, Coimbatore\, delivered an Anti-Drug Awareness speech to the students. They explained the harmful effects of drug abuse and emphasized the importance of staying away from drugs. \n 3. Anti-Drug Awareness Rally:  \nAn Anti-Drug Awareness Rally was conducted along Avinashi Road\, Coimbatore.\nDr. R. Renuga\, Principal\, NSS Programme Officers\, faculty members\, and more than 200 students participated enthusiastically in the rally. The students created Anti-Drug awareness among the public by raising slogans and spreading the message “Say No to Drugs\, Say Yes to Life.” \nThe series of Anti-Drug activities created awareness among students and the public about the harmful effects of drugs and emphasized the collective responsibility of building a healthy\, safe\, and drug-free Tamil Nadu.
