History

Computer Engineering Course started in CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College in the year 1999. Computer engineering offers great scope in higher studies and placements. This course is for a period of three academic years, consisting of 6 semesters, and this is affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu.

Mission

The Department of Computer Engineering provides the students to expose in various aspects of Information Technology. It provides practical skill to the students and makes them ready to cater to the needs of the industry and provides hands on experience with a very good practical vision.

Vision

The Department aims at providing more practical knowledge to the students which enables them to adapt in their future studies and also to work in various software companies.

Lab Facilities

Multimedia Systems and Java Programming

It enable students to develop skills with interactive visual and auditory technology. This lab prepares students to use digital multimedia for communication, creativity, collaboration, critical thinking. And makes them to analyse and develop problems logically using Java.

RDBMS and Web Design Programming

Here students understand the various types of database queries and about stored programs. Learn to connect PHP with mysql database. Learn how to create web pages and web applications using JSP and CSS.

Computer Servicing and Network

Here students learn to assemble PC and install OS in systems. They enable to perform different cabling in network. Learn to install and configure server hardware devices.
