History

The Department is serving the student community with the intention to provide basic physics knowledge to the diploma engineering students since 1961. Presently, the department is situated in the Science Block of CITSPC. The Department has well experienced faculty team and well equipped laboratory facility as per DOTE curriculum guidelines to serve the student community.

Along with Academic activities, the Department also involved in conducting science seminars, competitions, exhibitions etc., to motivate the diploma engineering students and thereby moulding the students to become quality engineers.

Presently, the Department is headed by Thiru. R. Devaraj (HOD – First Year Engineering).

Mission

The mission of Basic Engineering is to provide a foundation for all academic programs. The motto is to do our utmost to stimulate and maintain an environment of respect and encouragement so that optimum learning can occur. Faculty of non-engineering help students to acquire the knowledge, understand the critical abilities and practical skills necessary to be faithful as well as successful communicators.

Vision

CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College strives to become the standard of excellence, fostering active and student-centered learning. Science and Humanities department enhance the skills of post-matric level adults to be successful at Diploma level.

Goals

Provide Physics course relevant to the General and Professional needs.
